The pharmaceutical wholesaler Farmacol was established in 1990 by Mr Andrzej Olszewski - the current owner and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The Capital Group Farmacol has been present on the market since November 1993.

At the beginning Farmacol operated as the limited liability company, however it became a joint-stock company on 1 February 1997.  The company gained the public entity status in 1998 and since June 1999 its shares have been listed at the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The profit gained from the public issue of shares was invested into the construction of the Capital Group and acquisition of other companies within the pharmaceuticals distribution industry. From 1999-2002 the Company purchased majority shares i.a. in the following Cefarm companies:  Kielce, Wrocław, Szczecin and Warsaw as well as a few smaller entities wholesaling pharmaceuticals, thus creating the Capital Group. Farmacol distributes medicines and other pharmaceutical products to several thousand pharmacies and a few hundred hospitals located all over the country.  Striving to offer a wide range of services at a very high level, it pays a lot of attention to efficiency of the conducted business activity. That’s why Farmacol has been an unquestionable leader in the pharmaceutical industry as far as the profitability achieved is concerned.

As a result of the investments financed with equity in the last few years the warehouses belonging to the Group were fully automated and equipped with newest mobile terminals, which allowed for the improvement of the quality of logistic services.
